Since 2019, The San Clemente Historical Society has awarded scholarships each year to two graduating San Clemente High School seniors.

In 2024, we will award two $1,000 scholarships. Applications for the 2024 awards are due April 1, 2024. Please refer to the guidelines below.

How do I obtain and submit an application form?
Please download our application form here. Once completed, please email it along with your essay and transcripts to info@sanclementehistorcalsociety.org with the subject “Scholarship Application.” Applications are due by April 1, 2024.

Who is eligible?
1. Applicant must be a San Clemente resident.
2. Applicant must be a San Clemente High School Senior with an academic GPA of 3.0 or higher.
3. Applicant must meet all of the acceptance requirements of the accredited college to which attendance is planned for Fall of 2024.
4. Preference will be given to Applicants planning to major in History or Journalism.

How many scholarships will be awarded?
For 2024, we will award two scholarships for $1,000 each.

What is the deadline to apply?
Applications are due by April 1, 2024. To apply, email your completed application form (with all required signatures) along with your essay and transcripts to info@sanclementehistorcalsociety.org with the subject “Scholarship Application.”

The two scholarship recipients will be recognized at the San Clemente High School Senior Awards in May 2024.

The scholarship check rewarded will be forwarded by the San Clemente Historical Society to the Financial Aid Office at the college or university that the student will enter for Fall 2024. The recipient is required to email the Historical Society the name of the college or university attending and the student's permanent student identification number.
