DATE: Saturday, October 14, 2023, 12pm to 4pm
TIME: The home tour is scheduled for 12pm to 4pm. You may start your tour at anytime, but the open houses are only open from 12pm to 4pm. We recommend you end your tour at Lander’s in North Beach or on Avenida Del Mar at H.H. Cottons where they have offered drink and food specials for Home Tour patrons with wristband.
DRIVING/WALKING: This is a self guided walking or driving tour. You will receive a map via email and instructions for where to pick up a printed copy that will guide your experience. The map will include all 203 of the historic homes and buildings in San Clemente, divided into 8 neighborhoods. Each neighborhood has one or two “open houses” including historic “Ole Hanson” homes and commercial buildings. You can choose your own route, walking, using the Trolley, or driving and parking neighborhood to neighborhood, to view the facades of the historic buildings and visit each open house. You may view each open house as long or as briefly as you please. The open houses close for viewing at 4pm.
WHERE: You may start the tour in any neighborhood. Check-in locations for day-of tickets, your wristbands, and your brochure map will be held at The Casino (140 Avenida Pico) and at The Abode (228 Avenida del Mar). Here you will be given a wristband for admission to all the locations as well as a printed map and brochure to guide your experience.
CLOTHING AND SHOES: We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and walking shoes during the tour. There are steps and uneven surfaces within the homes and surroundings. Backpacks and photos are prohibited inside the homes; cell phones must be put away and turned off inside the homes..
TICKETS: Sales are limited to avoid overcrowding. Admission is $40 pre-sale and $45 on the day of the Tour. Tickets will be redeemed for a wristband and your printed map at either The Casino (140 Avenida Pico) or at The Abode (228 Avenida del Mar).
PARKING: Paid Parking lots are located at North Beach, Linda Lane, the Pier, T-Street, and Calafia Beaches. Free parking is available along Del Mar, in the lots near the Community Center, and street parking is available throughout town. We provide recommended parking areas in each neighborhood on the map provided.
TROLLEY: The San Clemente city trolley runs throughout the duration of the Home Tour. If you prefer not to drive, you can hop on the trolley to visit some of the neighborhoods on the tour. See our map for more details.
CHILDREN AND ACCESSIBILITY: We regret that the tour cannot accommodate children under 12. Uneven surfaces and steps may preclude participation by persons with mobility challenges.
We appreciate our generous homeowners and business owners and many volunteers who make the tour possible, as well as our sponsors who include:
