Scholarship Awards

Since 2019, The San Clemente Historical Society has awarded scholarships each year to two graduating San Clemente High School seniors. In 2020 we awarded two $500 scholarships and in 2021 we awarded two $750 scholarships.

In 2022, we will award two $1,000 scholarships. Applications for the 2022 awards are due April 2, 2022 (extended deadline). Please refer to the guidelines below.

How do I obtain and submit an application form?
Please download our application form here. Once completed, please email it along with your essay and transcripts to info@sanclementehistorcalsociety.org with the subject “Scholarship Application.” Applications are due by April 2, 2022 (extended).

Who is eligible?
1. Applicant must be a San Clemente resident.
2. Applicant must be a San Clemente High School Senior with an academic GPA of 3.0 or higher.
3. Applicant must meet all of the acceptance requirements of the accredited college to which attendance is planned for Fall of 2022.
4. Preference will be given to Applicants planning to major in History or Journalism.

How many scholarships will be awarded?
For 2022, we will award two scholarships for $1,000 each.

What is the deadline to apply?
Applications are due by April 2, 2022 (extended deadline). To apply, email your completed application form (with all required signatures) along with your essay and transcripts to info@sanclementehistorcalsociety.org with the subject “Scholarship Application.”

Are there any additional requirements for scholarship recipients?
Finalists will deliver an in-person presentation to our Scholarship Committee members to be scheduled in April. Presentations will be 5-15 minutes in length and will focus on their essay, future goals, and aspirations.

The two scholarship recipients will be recognized at the San Clemente High School Senior Awards in May 2022.
